Catherine started movement training on the Dance Theatre Programme at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance from 1985 – 1988.

During that time she took further training with short courses at The Place, Laban and The Amsterdam Theatre School.

Catherine worked for fifteen years in schools and colleges teaching GCSE and A Level Dance, BTEC National Diploma in Dance and Performing Arts, and has an on-going interest in the connections between movement, energy, and well being.

Having trained with the Pilates Foundation and since realised it was the mindful approach to movement where so many clients felt the benefit, so she has developed her own programme which draws from Energy work, Pilates and Meditation techniques.

Penny has been practising Pilates for over 12 years, but in 2013, about a year after the birth of her daughter, Penny developed breast-cancer. Having comes successfully through one long-term treatment and out the other side, Penny realised that she felt more passionate than ever about health, well-being, fitness and vitality.

It was then that Penny decided to train as a Pilates teacher, finding the benefits attributed to practising Pilates wide and numerous. For example, the fact that it is so effective, muscles become stronger, longer and leaner without creating unwanted bulk.

All abilities are catered for in Penny’s classes, through the many adaptations available to each exercise at every level, making learners feel less intimidated, allowing them to clearly see their progression.
