Catherine started her movement training at Laban and took further courses at The Place and The Amsterdam Theatre School.

After teaching dance in schools and colleges for fifteen years, Catherine then trained with the Pilates Foundation.

Having taught Pilates for ten years, it is the mindful meditative approach to movement that has inspired the way I work. Which lead me to develop my own programme which draws from Pilates, energy work and meditation techniques.

I work with a somatic approach of mind/body integration, which is instrumental in initiating change through energy and body awareness.

Penny has been practising Pilates for over 12 years, but in 2013, about a year after the birth of her daughter, Penny developed breast-cancer. Having comes successfully through one long-term treatment and out the other side, Penny realised that she felt more passionate than ever about health, well-being, fitness and vitality.

It was then that Penny decided to train as a Pilates teacher, finding the benefits attributed to practising Pilates wide and numerous. For example, the fact that it is so effective, muscles become stronger, longer and leaner without creating unwanted bulk.

All abilities are catered for in Penny’s classes, through the many adaptations available to each exercise at every level, making learners feel less intimidated, allowing them to clearly see their progression.
